Peek Paper Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 I'm hoping KW escapes the jungle soon ... I bet we're headed back to 1500 ... no money on it, though. Looks to be a powerful bounce from the o'night futes low.
cwd Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 is that bad? lol 640736 Not according to the CNBSers
I_Am_Madness Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Someone here mentioned back in October that it's a great time to buy stocks when the fed starts to cut, historically the market goes up. In contrary, historically it has been a good time to SELL when the fed start to cut. All one have to do is check the charts, look no further than 2000-2003 Dow chart. At this point, we can all conclude that this theory works again. I believe the time to buy might be when the FED pause.
Ageka Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 gold breakout 640743 And this time HUI and XAU seem to try to follow

They cut rates through the last bear and then we rallied as they were raising rates. Now we are cutting and the markets are falling again. It sure seems like the tail is wagging the dog. I'll try to update this chart back to 2000. It shows FOMC announcements. Green arrows show rate increases, blue arrows are no change, and red arrows are decreases.
I_Am_Madness Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 BSC Where's the juice on this bounce?
potatohead Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 wingohockingmoyamensing it....if your going down, might as well hand it out to everyone.... *DJ US Senate Dems Add Senior Citizen Rebates To Stimulus Bill *DJ US Senate Dems Add Jobless Benefits Extension To Stimulus Bill
cwd Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 According to CNBS shill. we are going to be in a boom economy in the second half due to rate cuts.

Sudaca Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Chinese A-shares closing in on a 30% loss since October's top. Chinese new year starts on the 6th of February ending the "lucky" golden Pig year. Will most chinese lock in on their lucky pig profits or risk an encore of last year's market reopening dumpage? Obvious shport just under 4300. If this breaks, I think grasshopper will lose his patience. 640695 Funny how the Year of the Pig is going to be replaced by the Year Of The Rat (think Rats leaving ship)
